History

Dr. Elaine Joslyn, a long-time provider of osteopathic health care in the Northeast area,

observed that her patients often had needs for tests and specialized services that could

not be provided in her clinic. However approximately 80% of residents in the area are

uninsured or have limited insurance which precludes them from obtaining all but the

most basic health care. For these residents, services such as diagnostic testing and

specialty care are simply not affordable.

The area served by NNN is in the Northeast area of Kansas City, Missouri, bounded on

the west by the Heart of America Bridge, on the east by I-435, on the north by the

Missouri River, and on the south by Truman Road. The area encompasses zip codes

64123, 64124 and 64125. The estimated population of the area is 30,000 (http://
